If you pre-ordered a copy, it should either be with you right now, or very close to delivery – and if you missed out on the initial stock, more launch boxes, rulebooks, and other miniatures are being manufactured. We’ve announced a wave of Made to Order releases for the Tomb Kings of Khemri and Kingdom of Bretonnia, and the green tide is now on the horizon. In short, it’s a good time to be a fan of ranked combat in the World of Legend. For those of you with existing collections who would like to jump into the game, here are full Grand Army lists for the seven legacy factions from Warhammer Fantasy Battles. The rules contained within this document allow players the opportunity to try out the Warhammer: The Old World rules using models they may have in their collection. They are not intended for use in matched play events and will not be updated in line with any future Warhammer: the Old World publications. These are, however, complete lists and cover more or less every generic character, troop, monster, or war machine that was available to each faction during the final edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. A good deal of care and attention has gone into playtesting and balancing these lists, and each comes with upgrades, magic items, additional spell lores, and army rules. Take the Dark Elves, for instance, whose Witch Elves are Murderous and whose Black Ark Corsairs are still outfitted in snazzy Sea Dragon Cloaks. For the Lizardmen, all the favourites are back – including the puissant Slann Mage-Priests, who are just as powerful as they ever were. They still cast with the Lore of Lustria, and can also attain various Disciplines of the Old Ones, suh as a Higher State of Mind. The Chaos Dwarfs, meanwhile, bring the might of their infernal industries to bear on the battlefields of the Old World. The Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher is a classic artillery piece which can dish out some serious punishment, for instance. But while these are complete lists, there are no plans to release miniatures to use them with – the rules are intended for people who already have armies in their collection.
