Unless you’re an Australian sportsman, you’ve got a choice to make in next week’s pre-orders: green or gold? Spoiler alert: the correct answer is both. The galaxy’s finest warriors are crashing down into the current edition of Warhammer 40,000 – oh, and the Adeptus Custodes are here too. Codex: Orks The definitive document for playing Orks in 10th edition arrives in two flavours – regular and the Collectors Edition. Either volume contains the comprehensive rules, background, and painting guides you expect from a Codex, as well as a code to activate your copy on the Warhammer 40,000 app. The Collectors Edition is strictly limited in number, and arrives with unique artwork, a ribbon bookmark, and green foil accents. As for the rules, there are 51 Datasheets, six complete Detachments, new Crusade tools to launch a galaxy-shaking Waaagh!, and a Combat Patrol in the form of Morgrim’s Butchas – an ornery gaggle of Beast Snagga Boyz. Battleforce: Stompa Boyz There’s a new Ork Big Mek – and this box is the first place you can get him. He’s accompanied by a full army: 10 Ork Boyz, 10 Loota Boyz (who can be built as Burna Boyz), a Trukk, and a Stompa. This is a truly mighty force to be reckoned with, and the Big Mek can lead either the Boyz or the Lootaz. He has two head options, and weapon options including a kustom mega-blasta, a traktor blasta, a power klaw, and a drilla. Combat Patrol: Orks Known as Morgrim’s Butchas, this mob of angry Beast Snagga Orks are clearly disappointed by the dearth of big monsters and vehicles in Combat Patrol and are taking out their frustration on everyone else. You get a hulking Beastboss flanked by 20 Beast Snagga Boyz and backed up by four Squighog Boyz, making this a hard-hitting Combat Patrol with lots of big charge energy. Ork Datasheets and Dice Get Waaagh! [your name here] up and running with two crucial player aids: the Orks dice and datasheet cards. The Dice Pack contains 16 six-sided dice cast in swirled green plastic with white pips, while the datasheet cards collect all of the unit and Detachment rules you need into 55 quick-reference cards. Codex: Adeptus Custodes Take the Ten Thousand out for a spin with Codex: Adeptus Custodes, the essential companion for collecting, painting, and playing an entire army of the Emperor’s personal bodyguards. Inside you’ll find extensive background lore on this force of demigod champions and their psychic blank compatriots, alongside four thematic Detachments, 18 datasheets covering the primary fighting force of the Adeptus Custodes, and ample Crusade content for taking your Talons of the Emperor on a narrative campaign. This captivating book will also be available as an awesome Collectors Edition with a suitably gilded soft-touch cover, though like the Adeptus Custodes themselves it’s strictly limited in number – so don’t miss your chance to scoop one up. Battleforce: Auric Champions The brand new Shield Captain leads an overwhelming force of Custodians in the Auric Champions battleforce. The Captain comes with two head options and wields a powerful pyrithite spear, while his bodyguard comprises five Wardens, six Allarus Terminators, and six Vertus Praetors mounted on fearsome jetbikes. Combat Patrol: Adeptus Custodes Wield the golden sword of the Emperor in smaller-scale Warhammer 40,000 games with Combat Patrol: Adeptus Custodes, which also makes for a great start to a larger army. The patrol is led by a charging Blade Champion, who can assemble his force from five Custodian Guard and a choice between three Allarus Terminators or three Wardens – you’ll get all of the miniatures in the box, but they’re just too powerful to take the whole lot into a single game of Combat Patrol! Adeptus Custodes Datasheets and Dice Complete your Custodian collection with handy dice and datasheet cards, decked out in the shining gold the Ten Thousand are known for. The pack of 16 dice are cast in swirled gold plastic with bright red pips and the faction logo on the six. HorusHeresy2022 Black 600Wide LOGO Baal Predator Upgrade Pack The Blood Angels are known for a particularly vicious anti-infantry pattern of Predator tank named after their homeworld, and now you can convert your Deimos Predators into Baal Predators with this slick Forge World resin upgrade pack for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. The pack contains a twin-linked Iliastus assault cannon for the turret – which can replace the regular Predator cannon at no cost – and a pintle-mounted version for any of your hatch gunners, with the arms and mounting brackets needed to use them. Armoury of the Blood Angels It wasn’t enough for the Blood Angels to wield deadly weapons – they had to be beautiful too. This pack contains three Umbra-pattern boltguns, an inferno pistol for each of the right and left hands, an Ilastus-pattern assault cannon, and one of each of the Legion’s famed Perdition weapons – a spear, an axe, a sword, and a mace. Da Big Dakka (Special Edition) Ufthak Blackhawk returns in his second full-length adventure – Da Big Dakka by Mike Brooks. This gloriously green, signed and numbered Special Edition sits right alongside the similarly viridescent edition of Brutal Kunnin’, and features the short story Packin’ Heat as an extra bonus with a foreword from the author. This hardback special edition is limited to just 1,500 copies, so don’t miss out! Dead Kingdom The remorseful Soulblight vampire known as the Hollow King is back in action, as old debts bond him in service to Neferata, Mortarch of Blood. Cado is plunged into a conflict with Mannfred von Carstein in The Dead Kingdom by John French, where he’ll have to make a painful choice between leaving a city to drown in the tides of war or defying the will of the Queen of Blood. This new novel will be available to pre-order in hardback, eBook, and MP3 audiobook editions. Children of Teclis A modern classic Lumineth Realm-lords adventure returns in a new paperback edition. In Children of Teclis by Evan Dicken, the brilliant Loreseeker Elarin the Illuminated stands guard over the tomb of Nagash in Marrowscar – where the Great Necromancer lies after his defeat at the hands of Teclis. Despite her solemn charge, she’s determined to find a way to ensure the God of the Undead remains permanently interred – even as Idoneth reavers sack Marrowscar in search of magics to restore their withered souls. Orks take over Warhammer+ this week with a triple threat of new episodes, headlined by a no-holds barred, 2,000 point Battle Report clash between the new Ork and Adeptus Custodes Codexes – starring big hitters Ghazghkull Thraka and Trajann Valoris. Over at Loremasters, our expert researchers dig into the strange history of the Ork Mekboyz and the legacy of destruction they leave, while Citadel Colour Masterclass goes big with an advanced tutorial for painting gargantuan skin. Meanwhile, we dive headlong into Warhammer Age of Sigmar as more reveals of new rules, new miniatures, and a few surprises begin the road to the new edition in earnest. It’ll be your first chance to see some of the new Skaven.
